This year I’ve really been trying to push ‘documentary’ style sessions with the families I work with. Basically having the family choose the location and activity that they all enjoy doing together – a particular park, a beach day, even the morning routine of making pancakes and playing around at home (pajamas and all!) Whatever it is, it has to mean something to the family. What ends up happening is capturing real memories and images of happy families just being themselves rather than having to pose and smile for the camera for several hours.  And then families can really look back on these images and remember what their life was really like and how their kids personalities really were and how much they all really loved each other. Capturing that for families is what makes my heart so happy and I’ve been loving these sessions so much this year.
This was one such session – back when we had some snow in Vancouver and Sophie was just a few months old. This family often spends Sunday mornings walking down to Granville Island for breakfast, coffees and to just enjoy the quiet stillness of the island before the busyness later in the day. So that’s what we did. I met them at home as they were getting ready for the morning and headed down to the island with them. A few of my favorites from our morning together –

  45. Personally, I like ‘egg bacon and spam!’ I often wonder when companies are going to get “it” when it comes to spam. The problem is, according to CAN-SPAM (what an ironic name!) companies don’t need to get permission, but can’t used “harvested” emails, which I assume are electronically scraped emails. CAN-SPAM would be so much better if it stated that you cannot add someone’s email without having written permission. But you know what happens…a marketer, PR, sales, HR person just dumps you into their database once they have your email address. Everyone should read your recommendations! I'm waiting for one group to put forth the most insane nonsensical thing possible then rally everyone else to vote it up to "the number one issue facing America" or something. I would honestly pay money to be a fly on the wall when an aide has to explain to some out of touch GOP lawmaker who only has a vague idea of what the internet is that the current leading issue on the site is people are concerned that Obama is a sleeper agent for the reptile people of Jupiter or something.

I would just like to say that the primary reason that MySpace sucks is because it allows so much absolutely abyssmal design and content, and the music playing thing.Otherwise, these people could setup blogs of their own on any of the zillions of other blog sites. But they can’t make their pages look nearly as AWFUL as they do on myspace.

  99. I just looked up that wanted poster. Now I need to write another comment. It had a date, “July 5, 1631″, and the descriptive paragraph that follows specifies that the officer was in Russia “a few months later”.Now, I don’t know how fast the Russian bureaucracy can move, but if it takes another “few months” for this little expedition to reach Grantville, then the date of this snippet might have a problem. And the weather should be rather wintry, regardless of whether or not it is actually 1631….

  109. Syfy detest it or not it is really a a top quality typeface treatment.. the NYPL logo is good, and I dig the the new pfizer mark.

  116. Many thanks for your post. I want to comment that the price of car insurance varies widely from one policy to another, simply because there are so many different issues which give rise to the overall cost. One example is, the brand name of the car will have a significant bearing on the fee. A reliable aged family automobile will have a lower priced premium than the usual flashy sports vehicle.

  129. Good review Dan, I had the same problems with the Nouveau driver, it took me 3 hours to get my NVIDIA 6800GT working. Nano was installed from the DVD, however the one item that I found a bit odd was the lack of the menu editor, I had to search for it with the package manager. So far I have found Fedora 12 a bit more stable than 11 for my machine, for the last few months FC11 was so unstable on my machine that I rolled back to FC10 (my favourite FC so far). Keep up the good work on the blog and the thoroughly excellent Linux Outlaws podcast, truly a great show.

  149. I’m quite pleased with the information in this one. TY!

  150. I would say that the reason why the Dolphins and Cincinnatti were better is because they had the opportunity to compete against the bottom half of the AFL teams–the Broncos, Patriots and the fading Bills as examples. Certainly there were weak teams in the NFL, but I dare say the Washington Redskins, the Lions, or the Giants would have clobbered the lower ranked teams from 1967-69 (though changes were afoot by 1971 with the ascendancy of the draft success documented above.

  151. That insight’s perfect for what I need. Thanks!

  152. I have been surfing online more than three hours these days, but I never found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is pretty value enough for me. Personally, if all webmasters and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the internet will probably be a lot more useful than ever before.

  153. Or, as my fiance pointed out (in reference to the "more people should have concealed carries to make us safer" argument)… the next time you're in a public place, waiting in line or standing at an intersection, take note of the people around you, and ask yourself if you would really feel safer if they were all armed.

  159. My ideal size is only available on-line (odd size for both waist and length). Love louis vuitton but hate when they are too long and get worn at the back due to catching at the heel. The on-line price is probably a little more expensive than buying in some store but you can get the exact style, color and size you want online.

  164. Your posting really straightened me out. Thanks!

  165. Almost every one of what you point made known is supprisingly appropriate and that makes me speculate why I hadn’t looked by this in this effortless previously. This particular clause beyond doubt did alter the happy proceeding for me personally as far-flung as this specific issue goes. However here is merely one cause I am not especially extremely cozy with hence whilst I stab to reconcile that with the core theme of your arrange, consent to me observe immediately what the rest of the visitors have to say.Well done.

  166. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  167. Begun, the great internet education has.

  168. Heckuva good job. I sure appreciate it.

  176. Your articles are for when it absolutely, positively, needs to be understood overnight.

  177. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  178. You Sir/Madam are the enemy of confusion everywhere!

  179. Hmm Well I was just searching on yahoo and just came across your site, in general I just only visit websites and retrieve my required info but this time the useful info that you posted in this post urged me to post here and appreciate your diligent work. 180. Well put, sir, well put. I’ll certainly make note of that.

  181. Michael Moore and Oliver Stone are not politicians and they cannot enact legislation, this is true. But what I think some of you are missing is that there are a lot of leftists out there who wish there were Democratic politicians who thought like Moore and Stone do. You won't find a credible Democratic politician who returns Oliver Stone's calls, but I'm sure Jane Hamsher wishes that politician existed.I think that's the point Chez was making. The scary thing about these Republican creeps is not that they exist, because there's crazy people all over the place. What's scary is that they were elected by actual human beings.

  182. Izar, I hate to break it to you, but Fox News is already pretty much a Republican party mouthpiece. They've hired Republican ex-politicians to be on their staff and aired Republican propaganda videos as news.It seems only a matter of time before MSNBC becomes the equal and opposite station. They could be already, for as little as I pay attention to them.
