I'm often asked if I take detail photos- the decor, the set up and all those things that contribute to the way your wedding looks. And the answer is yes! But you won't see those traditional detail images featured here. Although the traditional detail photos are pretty to look at and nice to have, they don't tell a lot about the stories behind your day. That doesn’t mean I think details are not important on a wedding day, because they most definitely are - but besides the traditional photos, my aim is to take images that weave the details into the story of the day. I enjoy searching for more meaningful details - where they are intertwined into the moments. These images may not be 'traditional' or 'pinterest worthy' per se, but they are real and they help to tell your story. I like to think they stand the test of time a bit more so that when 70 year old you is explaining to your grandkids the story of how your family began, these images can help to create a more vivid picture of what that time was like. Below are some of my favorite more 'found' detail photos that I've photographed to help tell the wedding day story.
