2015 BC Wedding Awards Finalist

It has been almost a week since the 2015 BC Wedding awards. To say I’m still in shock and on cloud nine is a bit of an understatement. I had decided to attend the event with some friends, socialize and meet a few a people in the wedding industry. I had never in a million years imagined that I would be called as a finalist for not one, but two BC Wedding Awards!!

I was a finalist for the 2015 BEST PHOTOJOURNALISM PHOTOGRAPH and a finalist (and this one I was really excited for!) 2015 BEST OVERALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

When the presenters called the 3 finalists for the first award, and I saw my name and image up on the big screen, I think my heart almost jumped out of my chest. It was so unexpected. And I was so so honored and thrilled to be recognized. I would have been more then happy with that, so when my name was called the 2nd time around, this time for best overall wedding photography, I pretty much almost started crying. It was a pretty exciting night. And I was so thankful and happy and excited (insert pretty much every good emotion here) to have been recognized for the two awards.

BEST PHOTOJOURNALISM PHOTOGRAPH
This image was one taken during Jen & Joe’s backyard wedding. Such an incredible day, if you haven’t had a chance to view the wedding blog post yet, you can do that HERE

BEST OVERALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY.
12 images from a single wedding are submitted and I chose to submit images from Sam & Josh’s wedding that was held in Whistler. It was one of my favorites I shot this past summer and if you haven’t had a chance to look at the entire blog post yet, you can do that HERE

Congratulations to all the other winners and finalists. It was such a fun night and was so great to see so many talented people recognized for all their hard work. This was my first time attending, and there are so many talented individuals in this industry – from photographers, to planners and florists –  that it was nice to put a few names to faces. I’m so thankful to ‘work’ in a profession where we can all come together and celebrate each other for an evening. I don’t think I stopped grinning ear to ear for the entire night!

And to the couples who allow me to document their day – thank you a million times over. Because of you, your trust and your support, I’m able to call what I do and love so much ‘work’.

And now all of that being said, I am still booking for the 2016 (and 2017 if you can believe it!) wedding seasons. Send me a message HERE and I would love to be in touch and chat more about your wedding plans.
